Botox FAQ
Neurotoxins are a class of injectables that are part of the botulinum toxin family.
The three most common brands of BOTOX, Xeomin, and Dysport can offer similar results in relaxing wrinkles but some patients have a preference towards one or the other. If you're interested to learn more, look for our comprehensive comparison of BOTOX, Xeomin, and Dysport.
Our patients get BOTOX for many reasons but the most common reasons to get BOTOX include:
Soften or remove dynamic lines on forehead, frown lines, crows feet
Skin appears brighter & smoother
Improve any asymmetries of lips, eyebrows, or eyelids
Repeat injections injections can prevent new wrinkles from forming over time
Improves your mood! Studies have shown individuals who receive Botox reported depression less often than their counterparts (1)
There’s no right answer as it only depends on when you feel comfortable. We have helped a wide range of patients.
The pain with injectables is minimal. We use a very small gauge needle that feels similar to a small prick. Depending on the individual, some areas are more sensitive than others. For most, the anticipation of the needle is the worst part.
At Worcester BTX & Aesthetics we charge $11 per unit of BOTOX.
The amount of units you will need depends on your age, skin, and area you would like to treat. The best way to figure out how many units you will need is to schedule a consultation where we can work with you to determine the optimal result within your budget.
The timeframe for which botox lasts varies person to person. Most individuals will have results that last anywhere from 2-4 months. There are up to 10% of individuals who do not metabolize botox, and in this case, would need to try a different neurotoxin, such as Dysport or Xeomin.
Like most things with botox, this is variable. Most individuals will start to notice results after 2-6 days, although for some people this can take more time. At 2 weeks, your botox will have completely settled and this will be what you get to experience for the subsequent 2-4 months
If you are new to botox - or new to an injector - we recommend 4 weeks prior to an event such as a wedding. This way, you have the opportunity to come back for an adjustment prior to the event. If you are someone who has gotten botox before & you know what your typical treatment is, 2 weeks prior to the event is appropriate.
No 🙂

However, there are certainly individuals who prefer minimal movement, or to have a “frozen” appearance, which we can accomplish using our variety of injectables for wrinkle relaxing.
